      Joining Badge Nation - Understanding Open Badge Factory

      Joining Badge Nation with OBF? Find out more about the available options.

      Whether you are brand new to digital badging or looking for a change, we will support you to create a tailored membership package that suits your needs. To join Badge Nation with Open Badge Factory (OBF) as your issuing platform, membership will be made up of your chosen:

      • Passport connection
        - Choice of 2 (free)
      • Badge Nation services
        - Customer support (flat rate)
        - QA & Publishing (price per badge)
        - Implementation (optional)

      OBF subscription

      Your OBF subscription is the technology cost associated with your Badge Nation membership. This is what gets you access to the issuing platform and sets what you can do with your account when you’re in.

      OBF has three subscriptions available to cater for your needs:

      Basic £180
      Start small – a Basic subscription will get you a range of fabulous features and 5,000 badge issues at a great price. Perfect if you won’t need more than 10 badges and can do without some bells and whistles to get your badge offer up and running.

      Premium £580
      Go for it – a Premium subscription enables more badges, more flexibility, and more issuing with 15,000 badge issues, three user roles, and increased functionality.

      Pro £1,075
      For serious badging – a Pro subscription enables access to advanced features and a massive quota of 50,000 badge issues. The sky is the limit!

      Passport connection

      Each OBF account must connect to a passport. Also known as a digital badge wallet, a passport is an online platform that enables users to collect and store their digital badges from various issuing platforms.

      When joining Badge Nation with OBF as your issuing platform, you have the choice of connecting your account to one of two passports – My Skills Pass, or My Skills Backpack, at no additional charge.

      We need to know your choice before we can publish any badges for your organisation. Please see this guide to find out more about these passports and which would be best for your organisation and earners.

      Badge Nation services

      Badge Nation services support you throughout the process of learning about badges, badge writing, quality assurance, publishing, and support to use your chosen platform.

      These services are in addition to your OBF subscription and provide a flexible way to access the world of digital badging.

      Customer Support
      £100 per organisation and includes:

      • Access to the Badge Zone for unlimited individuals in your organisation – Write badges, receive quality assurance, access our library of how-to guides and resources, and request support – all in one place.
      • Unlimited access to events such as Badge Writing Workshops.
      • Customer support to answer queries and manage your badges.

      Quality Assurance and Publishing

      £25 per badge template. Buy as many or as few as you need.

      Write consistent, high-quality badges with our QA service. Each badge is reviewed by the human heart and mind of a Badge Nation team member and ensured to align with the RSA Badge Standard. To top it off we create the visual, publish the badge for you, and set up your OBF account ready for you to issue.

      Implementation (Optional)

      Need a little more? Additional tailor-made support to best support your needs and ambitions can include:

      • Badge writing
      • Staff training
      • Strategic support
      • Integration scoping
