The 'Stranger Test’ is a simple element of the Quality Assurance process in which we check that the information you are submitting for your badge is easily understood by someone that is unfamiliar with your organisation or activities.
When badges are a little too vague, don't explain what an individual has done to earn the badge, or are difficult to understand, they might not pass The Stranger Test and we will be in touch to gather additional information.
The best place to capture the detail of what earners have undertaken is within the earning criteria. For more information about writing earning criteria, please see How to write earning criteria.
Below are some top tips and dos and don’ts for helping your badge pass The Stranger Test.
